He took some x-rays to confirm a large tumor in his belly and told me he did not see any more tumors on the x-ray but that it very probably was spreading. Baes didn't sugar coat anything, he told me he was anemic and dying, likely of cancer. Knowing what that can mean I got him out and got him in. Baes two weeks ago after he had been tired and slow for a long time, stopped wanting to eat, was losing weight and then crawled under the deck and didn't want to come out.

I took our 13 yr old australian cattle dog Mac in to Dr. Baes is a GENIUS and his staff the BEST in the state! It could mean life and death to your beloved pet.īaes Thomas Dvm - West Flint Animal Hospital is simply the BEST!ĭr. Even if you live on the other side of Flint - or another town even, if you love your pet and want only the VERY BEST-you don't want to miss the great opportunity of checking out this amazing quiet Doctor,w/a grandeoso heart. Baes won the hearts of not only myself, but my husband and our daughters as well. My only concern was that we not keep him alive IF he were in any kind of pain. Not only was his pain non existant after treatments, but he lived to be almost 6 years old-and in fairly good health.

Finally it was decided that our dog would be checked by the VETS at MICHIGAN STATE in Lansing, and they put him on meds that would help his shortened life be pain free -and slow any progression of cancer. Baes was so wonderful in researching every possible way to help our poor dog. When this 2nd Basset-HOWARD was about 6 months old, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma. We had gotten a darling Basset Hound puppy-to help us heal from the loss of a previous Basset, who had died of old age. Baes is an amazing individual and his kind and caring ways are not saved just for the families of his patients, but is carried over to each and every pet that comes through his door. He has never done this before and it hurts me to see him like this. My dog will not let me touch them and has shown teeth when I try to touch his paws.

They have grown out but they are still hollow and have been breaking off back to where the length they were cut back to. They said to give it some time and keep an eye on them. I have seen two other vets and they both say that his nails should not have been cut so short. He is constantly licking his paws and limping around. Until I looked at his paws and noticed that all of his nails were hollow and that puss was coming from them, some were even bleeding still. Not hearing his nails on the hardwood floor was nice but seeing him limp around for almost a month was painful. When I picked up my dog he had fresh breath and his nails were no more then 1 cm in length. I said yes, not knowing what they planned to do was cut his nails past the quick and cotorize them. I took my dog in for a teeth cleaning and they asked if I would like his nails "cut down".
